CleanPeak Energy has strengthened its Australian portfolio by acquiring five solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) development sites in New South Wales from Fortitude Renewables. The transaction adds 25MW of solar capacity and 100MWh of battery storage to CleanPeak's assets, according to industry reports.
The deal includes four shovel-ready projects in Ashley, Gunnedah, Dubbo, and Culcairn, with a fifth site in Warialda pending final development approval. All projects possess necessary development consents and grid connection agreements for co-located 5MW solar arrays and BESS installations.
Construction across the portfolio is scheduled to commence in 2026, targeting operational status by 2027. Once online, the projects are expected to generate approximately 90GWh of electricity annually.
Philip Graham, Founder of CleanPeak Energy, noted that the acquisition of this ready-to-build portfolio allows the company to proceed directly to construction, accelerating the delivery of renewable energy to its commercial and industrial customers.
This acquisition marks CleanPeak Energy's first since announcing a strategic partnership with global investment firm KKR, which invested AUD 500 million to support the rollout of distributed energy resources across Australia.
CleanPeak Energy specializes in developing, building, owning, and operating solar, battery storage, and related energy infrastructure for large Australian corporates and government entities, helping clients avoid upfront capital costs and technical risks.
