Bolting: Some lugs have a bolt or screw mechanism. Place the wire in the appropriate position and tighten the bolt or screw using a torque wrench to the specified torque value. This ensures the connection is tight without over-tightening and damaging the wire or lug.

Install the grounding lug

Locate the grounding point: Identify the appropriate grounding point on the solar panel frame, inverter, or other equipment. This is usually a designated hole or terminal marked for grounding.

Attach the lug: Place the grounding lug over the grounding point and secure it using the provided hardware, such as nuts and bolts. Tighten the hardware to the recommended torque to ensure a good electrical connection.

Verify the connection

Visual inspection: Check that the wire is properly inserted into the lug and that the lug is securely attached to the grounding point. There should be no visible signs of looseness or damage.

Continuity test: Use a multimeter to perform a continuity test. Set the multimeter to the ohm scale and touch one probe to the grounding lug and the other to the grounding electrode or the main grounding bus. The reading should be close to zero ohms, indicating a good electrical connection.

Safety and compliance checks

Check for proper grounding: Ensure that the entire solar system is properly grounded according to local electrical codes and safety standards. This includes checking that all metal components of the solar installation are connected to the grounding system.

Inspect for damage: Regularly inspect the grounding lug and wire for any signs of damage, corrosion, or looseness. If any issues are found, repair or replace the components immediately.
